We rented 3 homes for a long weekend, and they were exactly as described! The location was great for the kids to swim and fish and the paddle boats were a hit! We loved being able to see the water from the homes! The owners were there when we checked in and gave us good information on the houses and attractions. The houses were very clean and had anything and everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again if coming to the area!

Coming from Wisconsin, we figured on 60-70 degree weather while we were there. Arrived on the 11th around 6pm, met with Steve, told us it had reached 76 that day. GREAT guy, so cordial, made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Showed the book with information on places to go, a great resource to have. After he left, 2 hours later, it was snowing. Had 2-3 inches, actually we found it humorous. The set-up there is awesome, everything you needed and MORE. Where do you find an air hockey game in your rental unit! So well furnished! Didn't have an opportunity to sit on the decks, with 30-40 degree weather on Sat. although Sun. was pretty nice. If you have kids, there is a nice area for them and a separate area for adults. The two full baths is so nice especially if you are with another couple as we were. The pictures show it as it is, YOU will NOT be disappointed! ENJOY, as we did. Todd and Vonnie, Terry and Sue from Wisconsin

A Peaceful Home Away From Home

It's always been my dream to go to Nashville, BUT though I love the atmosphere...I don't want to stay there. We are country folks who love back roads and peace and quiet at the end of the day. We stayed in the Slayden Cabin...30 minutes from Nashville and it was perfect! There are rocks behind the cabin where I sat and had coffee almost every morning, watching the kayakers and boats go by. The covered back porch table was a great place for that, too. The hammock was so peaceful. Steve was awesome...especially when we were so excited about our first day in Nashville that I locked us out. He had a binder with restaurants, places to shop, places to kayak, shopping...almost everything you needed to know. He made sure when we checked in that we knew where grocery stores were and answered all questions we had. The cabin was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook anything we wanted. I have never stayed somewhere where we didn't run out of towels until here. We had everything we needed. The walk to the water is not far, it was nice to float around on our floats or paddle around and explore in the paddle boat. We brought a few games but there were plenty there to keep us busy. There are great small restaurants around and a few golf courses. We ziplined not far from there... where we surprisingly got to see Barbara Mandrell's huge log cabin on our way up. There's a lot of history in that quaint, small town. Everyone we met was so friendly. We would love to come back and spend another week at the Slayden Cabin and explore that area more this time. Steve, thank you for your hospitality and for providing such a wonderful place for us to stay!

Our family spent 5 days (4 nights) at the Slayden House. We were looking for a quiet and family friendly location and we found it. The house is divided into two stories with 2 bedrooms and a bath upstairs, allowing for privacy and quiet for those needing to retire earlier. The bottom floor was the fun floor! Air hockey table, board game table with board games to choose from, TV with Satellite for those preferring to just lounge on the couch. The kitchen had a long counter with bar stools to sit on. The kids enjoyed playing "Restaurant" and serving the customer during their busy lunch hour ! The kitchen is fully equipped which made it easy for us to get our healthy meals in. The front porch is covered and has a ceiling fan which allowed us to sit and enjoy the view without overheating. The view of the lake is beautiful. The kids enjoyed the hammock very much. The lake access is a short walk down the road. The kids enjoyed swimming and fishing. The pedal boats were available and the kids loved to have us parents take them on "cruises". There is also a fire pit but we didn't get to use it this time due to timing; Kids got tired from all the fun during the day :)
Overall it was a wonderful experience. The owner, Steve, is very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely visit again!
